9 Most Expensive Ancient Artifacts Ever Found!

11:22
Check out the most expensive artifacts ever found! From mysterious ancient discoveries to valuable lost treasures, this top 10 list of ancient artifacts is amazing! Subscribe to World5List http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Over time the denizens of our planet have helped make sure that those who are gone are not truly lost, and certain treasures are not lost either. Join us as we reveal some of the most priceless ancient artifacts ever found. 1. Pharaoh Sculpture Egypt is a land of much history, and many wonders that baffle people to this day (seriously, how did they make those pyramids?). And while there is another Egyptian treasure on this list, we thought it would be poetic to show off a mysterious treasure. Mainly, the sculpture of an Egyptian Pharaoh. 2. Rosetta Stone Sticking with Egypt, we go from the head of a pharaoh to a piece of rock that arguably changed how we looked at their culture. You see, the Rosetta Stone is famous because it allowed non-Egyptian people to read the hieroglyphs that were within the pyramids and temples in the land. You see, this stone had three different languages written on it. 3. Koh-i-Noor Diamond Diamonds are forever, right? Well...they’re also really, REALLY valuable, and for good reason. What’s more, the bigger the diamond, the more the value. 4. Egyptian Paint Ok, we know, paint doesn’t SOUND priceless, so why is it on this list? Well, as in many things, you don’t judge a book by its cover. This palette is thousands of years old, and yet, the paint that’s within the palette is still visible. 5. Imperial Regalia of the Holy Roman Empire There are certain items that are worth a lot separately, but when you have a complete set? That can make it priceless. Such is the Imperial Regalia of the Holy Roman Empire. 6. Priam’s Treasure Another collection of items, Priam’s Treasure holds a high honor because of its history both as an item, and its connection to World War II. And to this day, the legendary city of Troy has not been found. We’re just saying. 7. Ashikaga shogunate Armor Japan is a land that prides itself on its history, and with good reason. Long before they were a technological powerhouse, they were a land of samurai and emperors. 8. Ostrich Egg Map No, we’re not joking you. Someone literally took an ostrich egg and decided to carve a map of the world on it. Or, at least the world they knew existed. This egg was discovered in Florence, Italy, which has made many wonder who made it, and why they went to such lengths to craft it. 9. Lost and Destroyed Artifacts There’s always a dark side when it comes to trying to find artifacts. Mainly, some people don’t care about them, or attempts to preserve history are met with skepticism (see: The Monuments Men), and thus are considered low priority, or, in the worst cases, outright destroyed.

10 Extinct Animals You Never Knew WERE Real

11:24
Once scary, bizarre and strange creatures roamed our earth. Here are some extinct animals you didn’t even know ever existed. Subscribe to World5List http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Find us on... -- http://www.boredbadger.com -- http://www.facebook.com/world5list The world if full of life, but not all life continues on, and if it’s not documented, or discovered, how can we know about it? Join us as we talk about some extinct animals you never knew were real. 1. Megalodon Ok, we’ll admit, you probably did know about this one, but not for the reasons of it actually being real. 2. Gigantopithecus From Jaws to Planet of the Apes, it’s honestly not too much of a surprise that there was an ape that grew to massive sizes. But what sets the Gigantopithecus apart was just how big it could get. 3. Giant Swan Ok, so we’ve had the giant sea creature, we’ve had the giant land creature, where’s my giant bird? And no, we don’t mean Pterodactyls or other dinosaurs, we meant a literal bird that isn’t around anymore. 4. Irish Elk Any hunters out there? It’s ok if you’re are, we’re not judging you, we’re using it as a point of reference. 5. Elasmotherium From giant antlers to giant horns, it’s not hard to imagine certain creatures on Earth right now being descended from the Elasmotherium. 6. Great Auk They say that history is written by the victors, and if Penguins are victors, then the Great Auk is the loser. 7. Laughing Owl From the ironic, to the creepy, let’s talk about the laughing owl. Now, technically, there are species of laughing owl still out there today. The one we’re talking about was one native to New Zealand. Species name Sceloglaux albifacies. 8. Falkland Islands Wolf I’m not going to lie, I love wolves. I love just about everything about them. So when I came across the sad tale of the Falkland Islands Wolf, I knew I had to put it on the list. 9. Bluebuck Speaking of hunting to extinction, let’s talk about the Bluebuck. This creature might be self-explanatory, but it’s still a really cool creature to think about. The Bluebuck’s were native to Southern Africa for some time. 10. Barabary Lions Many creatures on this list are considered ancestors of certain other creatures on our Earth, or “tales to astonish” in many ways. Yet, one very sad tale of extinction is very recent, and it is entirely the fault of humanity for this creatures extinction. We speak of course of the Barbary Lion.

10 Amazing Recent Archaeological Discoveries

Robinson Terminal If there’s one thing the city of Alexandria, Virginia is known for it’s the history of this important American city. Basically, most of its history lies in the shipping industry as well as the tobacco planting which made up a large portion of Alexandria’s economy. There was much dispute about whether or not trade should be allowed on the Potomac river and whether or not the ships should be allowed passage in the late 1700’s. 9. Lost Dark Age Kingdom of Galloway Oh, there’s nothing quite as exciting as the Medieval Times, and no I’m not talking about the Dinner Theater show which features chivalry, rivalry and revelry! Although, I wouldn’t say no to a Dragon’s Wing and an adult beverage. Perchance another morrow because now it’s time to tell you about a cool archaeological discovery. 8. Giant Colossus Unearthed Everyone makes mistakes and this includes archaeologists and historians. It’s just a part of human nature, you’ve got to fall off that horse and get back on again. Or however that old saying goes. 7. Ancient Prenup Upon first glance this document might look like some romantic Egyptian poetry or some kind of perfectly complex ancient code of law. Turns out this eight-foot long scroll written 2,480 years ago was a form of hieroglyphic shorthand which came from an ancient prenup. Not the most romantic sort of thing, but here I thought prenups were fairly modern pieces of document. Well, turns out I was incorrect. 6. Easter Island Did Not Destroy Itself Through Ecocide For quite some time historians, archaeologists and science came together as a community believing the Rapa Nui, the native Polynesian inhabitants of Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean had committed Ecocide destroying their forests and devastating their food supply and soil to basically starve themselves. 5. Long Lost Temple of Artemis Discovery Sometimes researchers and archaeologists go by their instincts and in this case it turns out they would be pretty on the spot when searching for a mysterious hidden temple dedicated to an ancient deity. They knew this temple to Artemis must be on the Greek island of Euboe because it had such a long association with the deity. 4. World’s Largest Dinosaur Footprint Who would have guessed that Australia was actually a real-life Jurassic Park at one time. If you didn’t guess it, mate, well I don’t blame you. It was around 130 million years ago when dinosaurs decided to get a bit cozy on the river delta of what is now the remote Kimberley region of western Australia. 3. Long Lost Declaration of Independence with Different Signature Placement Listen, there’s very rarely any drama that occurs when it comes to archival documents but when it does it should most certainly make headlines. A piece of the Declaration of Independence had been stashed away in a West Sussex Record Office in England. 2. Pyramid Fit for a Princess Have you heard the saying a castle fit for a princess… but what about a pyramid? At the site of Dahshur in Egypt, a 3,8000 year-old pyramid with an alabaster block and the name of pharaoh Ameny Qemau was discovered. 1. Renaissance Couple Buried with Their Hearts Oh, it sounds like some weirdly romantic Romeo and Juliet story but it’s something only a Renaissance couple could have conceived as remotely suitable as a way to reciprocate one’s love. So what am I talking about?

CRAZIEST Things Ancient Egyptians Did!

PEOPLE SHAVED TO AVOID LICE At almost any given time in Ancient Egypt, lice infestations were at epidemic levels. Maybe you experienced a lice outbreak happening during your school years, or camp or something!! Let us know in the comments!! But this, was much worse! In fact, the only way for people to avoid catching lice in Ancient Egypt was to remain as hairless as possible. 8. SMEARING SLAVES WITH HONEY TO KEEP FLIES AWAY Learning about how Pharaoh Pepi II kept flies away makes me thankful for modern insect repellant. Apparently, Pepi II despised flies - so much so, that he smeared naked slaves with honey and made them stand in a nearby room so that insects would stay away from him and flock to his servants. 7. BIZARRE METHODS OF CONTRACEPTION Several methods of contraception, which were arguably ahead of their time, were available to the Ancient Egyptians, who placed a high value on medical research. One of these concoctions consisted of a mixture of acacia gum, honey, and lint, used to block sperm from reaching the ovaries. 6. ROYALS PRACTICED INCEST In Ancient Egypt, it was common for members of royal families to marry their cousins and siblings. Rulers believed they were descended from the gods and therefore procreated with relatives because it was thought to keep their bloodline pure. 5. LAXATIVES FOR BEAUTY Ongoing research on medicine during the times of the Pharaohs has revealed the widespread use of laxatives among Ancient Egyptians. It appears that constipation was one of the conditions of the time that kept doctors busy. Ancient Egyptians valued slim, muscular frames, but as you’ll learn later, they were no strangers to obesity. 4. ROYAL WOMEN WERE LEFT TO DECAY Ancient Egyptian mythology was fraught with sexual taboos, including instances of necrophilia. Such tales were used to explain both positive and negative aspects of their polytheistic beliefs. However, while necrophilia had its place in storytelling, it was not considered an acceptable practice among mortals. 3. OBESITY WAS COMMON AMONG ROYALS Despite a fit, muscular physique being the standard for beauty in Ancient Egypt, many Pharaohs were most likely obese. To say that Ancient Egyptian royals ate a lot is an understatement. In fact, it was customary for Pharaohs to feast three times daily on lavish banquets prepared by their priests. On the menu were foods containing high amounts of saturated fats and high in calories, including beef, wine, and cake. 2. EXTREMELY HARSH PUNISHMENTS In Ancient Egypt, the deck was stacked against a criminally accused person from the beginning. The justice system operated on a “guilty until proven innocent” basis and police often beat confessions out of the accused. Those found guilty were often outright killed or subjected to horrific physical abuse before being sent into forced labor. 1. SLAVES BURIED WITH THEIR MASTERS Contrary to popular belief, human sacrifice wasn’t regularly practiced throughout Ancient Egyptian history. In the early days of Ancient Egypt, however, ritual sacrifices of servants, known as “retainer sacrifices,” were a component to the burial process of royals. Scientists have discovered evidence of these sacrifices, including numerous decapitated bodies in graves dating as far back as 3500 B.C.

Superpowers You Can Get RIGHT NOW!

12:13
Check out these superpowers you can get right now! From flying to telekinesis and superhuman strength, this top 10 list of superhero gadgets can turn you into batman or superman today! Subscribe to World5List: http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Check out our "13 Amazing Pets Who Saved Their Owners" video at: https://youtu.be/bMwLm16_Q-0 Check out our "7 Celebrities Who Gave Their Kids Up For Adoption" video at: https://youtu.be/vVrlJFZ8sME 10. Telekinesis It might seem odd that arguably one of the most beneficial superpowers are so low on this list, but it'll make sense before long. Telekinesis is the ability to move things with your mind. Seen by such comic book characters as Jean Grey, Professor X, and more, the stronger your mind is, and the more control you have over your power, the more you can lift. 9. Immunity To Pain Another interesting one, but also one that's dangerous in its own right, is being able not to feel pain. Now, you might think, "Why would I want such a thing?" Well, when your body feels pain, it doesn't just affect the body, it affects the mind and your emotional state. You have to react to the pain, or focus to block it out. 8. Iron Suit If there's one thing that comics have taught us over the years, it's that you don't need to have "real" superpowers to be a superhero. Characters like Batman, Wildcat, and Iron Man prove that if you have the skills, you can do what's necessary to get the job done. Of those three, Iron Man has one of the most desired "superpowers" in the form of his Iron Man suit. 7. Wall Crawling Spider-Man is one of the most popular superhero characters of all time. And because of that, he is beloved for many of his powers. While I wish I was going to use this post about getting a real-life Spider-Sense, I sadly have to talk about one of his other powers. No, not webshooting, the other one, wall-crawling. 6. Bulletproof Today's world is violent, massively so in fact. And one of the biggest perpetrators of this violence is guns. Many people fear being shot, so you wouldn't be laughed at for wanting to be bulletproof. There are many characters that are bulletproof for one reason or another. Superman is because of his connection to the sun, Luke Cage is legendary for his whole body being bulletproof because of an accident. 5. Healing While many superpowers are based on being able to do something offensively, or even defensively, one power that most people agree would be cool to have no matter who they were is healing. Made most famous by Wolverine, having a healing factor would be dramatically epic. 4. Invisibility When people ask each other what superpower they want, invisibility is often near the top, and it's not hard to see why. It's practical, used by my superheroes and supervillains like Invisible Woman, Doctor Doom, and it can be one that you can use in everyday life. It makes perfect sense why people would want it. So, are we close to it? Yes, actually certain variations of invisibility are available right now. 3. Super Speed Ah, another one of the holy grail superpowers, super speed. The Flash, Quicksilver, Jay Garrick, and more have wielded speed for all sorts of great things...and bad things, but that's beside the point. 2. Super Strength The OTHER major holy grail superpower is super strength. Being able to life up cars with one hand, or punch through solid stone without a scratch to your hand. It's a very pleasing and intriguing thought. Even though some of us would just want to be the Hulk so we could smash things...not me though! 1. Flight The top 3 of this left are truly some of the superpowers people wish they had the most. But the biggest one in many polls is Flight. So many heroes and villains and characters fly there's no time to run them all down. However, the appeal of the power is worth talking about.

14 RAREST Cat Breeds In The World!

Serval Let's start off with easily one of the most exotic cats out there, the Serval. You'd be forgiven for not knowing about this special cat, as it's from Africa. But what I told you that the Serval is actually pretty popular in the US as a pet? It's true. 13. Peterbald Here's a unique cat that will make you do a double take. the Peterbald are a species of cat that are found mostly in Russia, and have a trait of not having hair. So they're quite literally bald cats. Though, to be fair, not all of them are bald, some do get hair, but they do often lose it. 12. Korat Though cats are accepted in most cultures in the world, that doesn't mean they don't get their fair share of superstitions attached to them. A black cat for example can be viewed as bad luck, but also, there are good luck cats. One of which is the Korat. 11. Caracals Heading back to the exotic kinds of cats, the Caracals is one that is both stunning to look at, and is very interesting in terms of how it acts. You see, Caracals are a type of Lynx, another exotic cat that has been known to have some aggressive tendencies at times. Because of this, you might think that the Caracals are the same , but you would be wrong. 10. The Norwegian Forest Cat Here's a cat story you might like. The Norwegian Forest Cat is a breed of cat that is very popular in Europe. However, during World War II, this particular cat was almost made extinct. It survived however due to the efforts of the Norwegian Forest Cat Club. 9. Serengeti Sometimes, you're not born into the world an original, you're created, and cats have been breed that way for a long time believe it or not. A great example of this is the Serengeti. This species is a recent addition to the cat world, as they were "developed" in the 1990's by crossing the Bengal and Oriental Shorthair species. 8. Ocelot Ocelot's are one of the more known exotic species of cats in the world. Mainly because they're gorgeous, and people have tried to make them pets for quite some time...with mixed results. Have you ever seen Archer? Yeah, that's a good example of how not to raise an Ocelot. 7. Ragamuffin While this may have an odd name, the Ragamuffin is surprising unique in terms of other cats. This particular breed was only recognized in 2003, but has taken the cat world by storm since then. It's a mix of specials including the Ragdoll and certain breeds of street cat, but when you look and touch its fur and see its eyes, it's clear how special it is. 6. Geoffroy's Cat From a rather big domestic cat to a very small exotic one, let's talk about Geoffroy's Cat. No, this isn't a cat owned by a specific person, but a whole species, and one that measure in as one of the smallest cats on Earth, to the extent that when they're fully grown they only weight at max eight pounds. 5. California Spangled Developed in the US at the "urging" of anthropologist Louis Leaky, the California Spangled is now one of the rarest cats in the world today. Proving that even cat breeds can go out of style. As you can see, the California Spangled was made to resemble the cats of Africa. 4. British Shorthair It's well known that cats live long lives, and have been around for a VERY long time. But this species is one of the oldest known cat breeds ever, the British Shorthair. This cat is so revered in the UK that it's inspired many things, not the least of which was the look of the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland. Plus, it's the most pedigreed breed in the country. 3. Turkish Van This one deserves a special spot on my list because of its unique fur and personality. Anyone who's raised a cat knows that though they drink water, they don't bathe in it, right? And only jungle cats will swim in water, right? Wrong! Meet, the Turkish. 2. Egyptian Mau Another cat that looks like a jungle cat, the Egyptian Mau is unique because its spots are actually natural to it. No breeding or development required. But that's only the start of what makes this cat so special. 1. Bombay If you have been paying attention, you'll have noticed that people really want miniaturized versions of wild big cats like Lynxs, bobcats, jaguars, lions, etc. Another cat that people have apparently wanted to "miniaturize" is the panther. And because of that, the Bombay was breed.

9 Awesome Facts About Easter Island

11:23
Rapa Nui or Easter Island is a remote island with a lot of theories about the inhabitants, the statues and the past and history. Here are some facts about Easter Island. Subscribe to World5List http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Find us on... -- http://www.boredbadger.com -- http://www.facebook.com/world5list When one thinks about adventure they think of places like Egypt with its pyramids shrouded in mystery, and while Egypt is fascinating there is another place just as fascinating and full of mystery. Join us as we look at some awesome facts about Easter Island! The Statues: Easter Island also known by its native name Rapa Nui is most famously known for the many large statues that reside on the island. These statues are known as Moai and are believed to have been carved by the Rapa Nui people somewhere between 1250 CE and 1500 CE. While at first it appears the statues only consist of giant heads, archaeologists dug deeper down and discovered bodies! Its Name: Easter Island got its nickname from Jacob Roggeveen. He was one of the first European visitors who were recorded to have been on the island, when he came it was on April 5, 1722 and that date was significant due to it being Easter Sunday, which is how Jacob decided to describe it, and the nickname stuck! How Statues were Moved: Nobody is sure how the statues on Easter Island were moved given that they were transported 11 miles across the island without using wheels, or other means of transport that would have been available at that time. A Theft of a Moai Ear It was in 2008 when a tourist was found on Anakena beach trying to remove an ear off of a moai. A native islander happened to see Marko Kulju 26 at the time running from the scene with a peace of a Moai in his hand. Islanders Toppled Statues! Easter Island went through a very rough period where it faced devastation in terms of deforestation. The Island has Its Own Language! Rongorongo is the official script of Easter Island. It is one of the few known scripts that was created with no influence from outside sources. The Island has a Cult! In the 17th and 18th centuries there were many issues with deforestation, and overworking of the land which depleted the natural resources. With this came many strong religious beliefs. The Island has its own Currency! Since Easter Island is a part of Chile it does use the currency of Chile which is a Chilean peso. However Easter Island also does have its own currency as well! In 2008 coins were created and in 2012 banknotes were created and named rongo. Easter Islands Weapons There are many native weapons to Easter Island, but they were very limited. Some known weapons were spears made out of obsidian, short clubs, and stones that were thrown.

FORD Valued at approximately $13 billion, the 1,106-foot-long United States aircraft carrier known as the USS Gerald R. Ford is both the most expensive military vehicle and the largest aircraft carrier in the world. If you haven’t figured it out yet, the ship is named after Gerald Ford, the 38th President of the United States 3. LOCKHEED MARTIN F-35 LIGHTNING II In recent years, the U.S. and its allies have faced the difficulties of upkeeping their aging fighter fleets. One requirement of preserving global security and stability is the ability of these nations to maintain air superiority. That means staying ahead of the times when it comes to fighter aircraft. 2. Boeing C-17 Globemaster III Developed for the U.S. Force by McDonnell Douglas throughout the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft capable of dropping over 100 paratroopers into a zone at one time. Although it’s been used to transport troops, the aircraft has also performed the noble deeds of delivering humanitarian aid and carrying out medical evacuations. 1. NORTHROP GRUMMAN B-2 SPIRIT The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit, or the “Stealth Bomber” for short, is quite possibly the most expensive military aircraft ever built in the U.S. in terms of per-unit cost. It’s capable of entering deep into territory without detection. With an ability to bypass radar, visual, electromagnetic, and infrared signals, the Stealth is impressingly evasive.

Atari Games If you’re more than thirty or so years old, chances are you’ve heard of, played, or, perhaps, even owned an Atari game system. Not to announce my age or anything, but I recall spending my Christmas break from school up at my grandparents’ cabin with my cousins, relying on the primitive console’s “Pong” game as our main source of entertainment. 7. Diamonds Hidden in a Chair A Scottish couple purchased a quaint, but dusty old chair for a mere £5 in 2006. Because they couldn’t afford to renovate the chair at the time, Angela Milner-Brown and her husband, Angus, placed it in their attic and added its much-needed reupholstering to their “to-do” list. Like with many things people plan to “eventually get around to,” the chair sat untouched in the couple’s attic for six years. 6. Keith Haring Mural Imagine investing in real estate and discovering that your already-valuable Manhattan property contained a hidden mural by a renowned artist. Pretty cool, huh? Well, that actually happened. In 2001, architects Todd Ernst and Frank Servidio set out to discover a rumored, but far-from-proven treasure in an apartment at 260 Broadway in lower Manhattan. Hidden behind a closet used for cloaks and AV gear, the men found a wall adorned with unique artwork, made out of shoe polish and alcohol. 5. Jackson Original Artwork In 1992, a woman named Teri Horton, who had an eighth-grade education and was admittedly far from an art expert, visited one of San Bernardino’s local art thrift shops. For a mere $5, she walked away with an original Jackson painting in hand. The painting, which was originally purchased as a gift for a friend, was too large to fit into the homes of the various people Horton offered it to. 4. A 17th-Century Painting Inside of a Sofa When a financially strapped German student from Berlin purchased a sofa for 150 Euros - around $215 US - in 2007, she didn’t expect that she’d discover something exponentially more valuable stashed between the folding sections of her newly-acquired piece of second-hand furniture. But she did. 3. A Rare Chinese Bowl If you’re like most people, chances are, you peruse garage sales for the express purpose of acquiring cheap belongings. You’re most likely on a budget, and even if you’re not, you’re probably still a sucker for bargains. Every now and then, however, a cost-conscious shopper unintentionally stumbles upon a fortune when buying second-hand goods. 2. A Norman Rockwell Painting Some unexpectedly discovered treasures prove that, if nothing else, we’re all human. When Don Trachte Jr., a cartoonist for the Sunday paper, found himself in the throes of a divorce, he wasn’t about to let his soon-to-be ex-wife, Elizabeth, take him for all he was worth. 1. Rare Gold-Rush Era Coins It started out as an ordinary day. In 2014, a couple in Northern California took their dog for a seemingly routine walk. Little did they know, they’d return home as multimillionaires. While out on their stroll with Fido or Lassie or whatever the dog’s name was, they stumbled upon a fortune when the wife spotted part of a rusty old can sticking out of the ground near an old tree.

The Lost City Of Heracleion Now, hopefully, you all know the legend of Atlantis. Either way, a city underneath the ocean is very intriguing. 12. Cold Case Beneath The Waves Sometimes, you don't have to look too far to find something of importance under the water. In fact, you might just have to look near your local lake to see if anything interesting is there. 11. Sunken Gold Now, the "dream" of anyone who goes deep sea diving is to find treasure. It's been the basis of my careers, not to mention numerous TV shows and films. Usually, the "treasure" is via a pirate ship, but that's not the only kind of ship that has transported gold across the oceans. 10. Liftoff, We Have Liftoff The space program is arguably one of the most important endeavors in our world. Nature's Mark There are a lot of mysterious things underneath the ocean, one of the biggest ones I'll be talking about later. But some of the coolest ones are made by nature and its creatures. While diving in the waters south of Japan, a photographer found a very odd "mark" about 80 feet below sea level. 5. The Black Sea River When you think of oceans or seas, you likely think about the massive amounts of water that are within them. But what if I told you that in the case of the Black Sea, that a river runs through it? 4. Icy Fingers The frozen waters of the north and south are home to their own mysteries things. One of the most interesting though are the Ice Fingers, or brinicles. These are formations of ice that happen underneath the water, and truly resembles fingers. Yet, they're also terrifying because of their size, they can be bigger than humans at times. 3. The Mariana Trench One of the biggest questions when comes to the oceans is, "How deep is it?" Yes, we have estimations, but few have ever truly gone to the bottom of the ocean. This all changed when the Mariana Trench was discovered in 1875. 2. Underwater Pyramids The many pyramids of our world, made by various cultures, are by and large one of the greatest wonders of our world. The time and effort put into making them is a true marvel of human engineering. Now though, I want you to picture how long it would take to make those...underwater. 1. The Baltic Sea Anomaly Ready to be weirded out? For my final underwater discovery, I give you an object that is still unknown in origin to this day, the Baltic Sea Anomaly.

Giant Creatures That Existed Millions Of Years Ago

The ‘SuperCroc’ In Niger in 1997, scientists discovered the remains of a crocodile-like creature with a jaw bone the length of an average adult human. Sarcosuchus imperator, better known by its nickname ‘the SuperCroc,’ was twice the length and four times the weight of today’s biggest crocodiles. These massive predators grew to be as long as twelve meters and weighed up to eight tons. 6. Metoposaurus Reptiles and dinosaurs weren’t the only gargantuan creatures that existed in the prehistoric world. The metoposaurus was an early amphibian, and much like the ‘SuperCroc,’ it was much bigger than what we’re used to in modern times. It resembled a giant salamander, growing up to three meters in length, and subsisted on a carnivorous diet. 5. Terror Birds Terror birds, more formally known as phorusrhacids, were a group of large, carnivorous, flightless birds. They stood up to three meters tall and could run as fast as fifty kilometers per hour. With downward-pointed beaks that worked like a pick, terror birds were capable of crushing the skulls and vertebrae of their prey when using maximum force, often causing instant paralysis or death. 4. Cow sharks Most modern-day sharks, including nurse sharks and great whites, have five gill slits on each side of their body. There are, however, some exceptions to the norm. Cow sharks possess six or seven gills, a trait that goes back millions of years, to the earliest sharks. Considered to be the most archaic of shark species, these seldom-spotted six- and seven-gilled sharks are deepwater fish. 3. Aegirocassis benmoulae Picture a hybrid between a whale and a lobster. It might look something like Aegirocassis benmoulae, a species that was first discovered in Morocco in 2011 by a man named Ben Moula. This creature belonged to an extinct family of marine animals known as anomalocaridids and grew up to two meters in length (seven feet). A. benmoulae lived in the waters of southeastern Morocco around 480 million years ago, during the early Ordovician Period. 2. Giant Sea Scorpions Throughout prehistoric times, there existed a variety of large sea scorpions unlike anything the modern human has ever witnessed. Jaekelopterus rhenaniae bears the title of the largest arthropod that ever existed. It lived about 390 million years ago, during the Early Devonian period, and reached up to two-and-a-half meters in length, with spiked claws that grew as big as 46 centimeters. 1. Megalodon Sharks While nobody is quite sure exactly how big the Megalodon could get, one thing is for sure: these ancient sharks were far bigger than any that currently exist. Cartilage does not fossilize well, meaning that scientists have only been able to rely on teeth and small pieces of vertebrae. Estimates of the Megalodon’s size put it between 16 and 20 meters long. To give you an idea, the biggest fish currently in existence is the whale shark, which reaches up to 12.6 meters in length.

11 Scariest Places On Earth

Waverly Hills Sanatorium Hospitals alone can be a very scary place. The sounds of the machines, the hustle and bustle of the personnel as they try to save lives. The lighting that sometimes seems off. And the fact that you may have a potentially life-altering surgery or operation happen to you, or you may not leave said hospital because of an illness can be terrifying to anyone. 10. Door to Hell Ok, don't panic! I don't mean the LITERAL door, I mean a more metaphorical one. For sometimes, a scary place is one that looks so intimidating and frightening that it doesn't need a "paranormal" reason to exist. And this one actually has a scientific reason for its birth. 9. Helltown Hey! Don't blame me for these names! I didn't come up with them. Anyway, in Ohio, there is an area that was formerly called the Boston Township. In the 70's, the government bought out the land and forced the residents to move in order for reconstruction to take place. Specifically, a national park was going to be put there. 8. The Death Road Again I do not come up with these names. However, this one isn't just accurate, it's scary accurate. When you drive on your road in your hometown or city, the only things you have to "fear" are other motorists, the occasional deer running across the roads, and potholes. Right? Well, in Bolivia, there was, and technically still is, a road that was so treacherous that it claimed the lives of hundreds every year. 7. Stull, Kansas Sometimes the creepiest places are ones that help tell their own story. Stull, Kansas is a very small town. In fact, there's only about 20 people living there. But, it's the true history of the town that has helped build its legend. There was a farmer who had to burn his field, and he did so. 6. Taylor Glacier Here's a case of nature making a scary thing without a single helping hand from humanity. In Antarctica, there is a waterfall...that is red. Like, really red. Don't worry, it's not blood, but when you look at Taylor Glacier you can't help but think it's bleeding. 5. Athens Lunatic Asylum Oh yeah, you can't have a "scariest places on Earth" without at least one insane asylum. And this one is ranked as unlucky 13th in the "Scariest Places On Earth" by a prominent group. So, why is it much higher here? Well, again, it's the history that sells it. 4. Tower Of London Oh yes, even the rich and powerful have places that are haunted. And the Tower of London is arguably one of the most famous haunted places on Earth. What's more, the rumors of who haunts this place are nobles from the past. Including Arabella Stuart. 3. Death Valley A classic location with an iconic name, Death Valley earned its moniker in many ways. First off, it's home to the second-highest temperature ever recorded on Earth, a scorching 137 degrees. More than enough to kill humans and animals within minutes if not properly protected. 2. Savannah, Georgia While it's true I've listed a town in the list before, and I'm sure I'll show you another one, this particular one is interesting because not only is Savannah, Georgia still very well populated, it's hailed as one of the gems of the south. 1. Nagoro, Japan On top of my list is a place that was literally built to be creepy depending on how you look at it. Nagoro, Japan is a real village, and it's still there today. And at one time, it had a very modest community. Yet, as life went on, the people of the small town moved away or died.

Pink Star The Pink Star is the largest diamond in the world to be declared as Fancy Vivid Pink by the Gemological Institute of America. The Pink Star was owned by the Geneva-based Steinmetz Diamond Group, who happily presented the 59.60 carat diamond to the world via a showing in Monaco in 2003. 7. The Wittelsbach Graff Diamond This particular diamond has a bit of controversy surrounding it due to what happened when it was bought at an auction. The Wittelsbach Graff Diamond was bought by the legendary Sir Graff himself, who got the diamond for a little under $25 million dollars. You know, Peanuts!! 6. The Graff Pink Diamond Pink diamonds are one of the most valuable diamonds in the world today, and one of the most valued ones ever is the Graff Pink Diamond. The diamond was once owned by Harry Winston himself, who actually kept the diamond for over 60 years. The 24.78 carat diamond was indeed special, but it would eventually change hands by 2010. 5. Oppenheimer Blue Diamond Colored diamonds are some of the most rare and valuable ones on the market, but few are as treasured and rare as the Oppenheimer Blue Diamond. Not unlike many others, it's the color that helps make this diamond special, as it's a pure blue that is just not found in nature very often. Now, as for its owner, it used to be owned by one Sir Philip Oppenheimer, hence how the stone got its name. When you’re that awesome, you get diamonds named after you!! 4. De Beers Centenary Diamond The De Beers Centenary Diamond breaks the 9-digit value mark, as it's been appraised at $100 million dollars. This easily makes it one of the most valuable diamonds in the history of the world. But just as fascinating is the history of the diamond itself. 3. Hope Diamond The legendary Hope Diamond is legendary for numerous reasons. First and foremost, it's an incredibly valuable diamond, specifically, this is a blue diamond, measured to be 45.52 carats. Guess what it's worth!! Go ahead...guess!! It's worth approximately 350 million dollars. 2. The Cullinan The Cullinan has the honor of being the biggest rough diamond ever discovered in the world. Even bigger the De Beers Centenary Diamond. It was in a South African mine in 1905, one that happened to be owned by diamond magnate Sir Thomas Cullinan. Once again, hence the name. 1. Koh-I-Noor Diamond The Koh-I-Noor is not only one of the most valuable diamonds in the world, it's arguably the most controversial. As it was given to England under controversial circumstances, then placed as the headpiece of the literal Crown to the Queen. Because of these factors, there's only guesses as to how much the Koh-I-Noor is actually worth. Some view it as priceless, others view it at around $200 million, and others view it as high as 1 billion dollars.

7 Biggest Fast Food Scandals Ever

11:44
Who doesn’t love fast food? It’s fast and good but some of the burger chains like McDonald’s had it’s fair share of scandals. Subscribe to World5List http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Find us on... -- http://www.boredbadger.com -- http://www.facebook.com/world5list Biggest Fast Food Scandals There's nothing quite like going through a drive-thru after a long day at work and being handed a hot steaming bag of French fries. Wendy's Fireworks Display As a kid, there was nothing more exciting than lighting off fireworks for the 4th of July. But what we never contemplated was using fireworks as a prank in our local Wendy's. Failed Burger King Google Home Ad It wasn't long ago that Burger King tried to jump on the Google Home train but it turned out to be a failed idea. The ad released by the fast food chain was designed to purposefully activate your Google Home or Android phone but it turns out most people weren't too excited about the borderline invasion of their home privacy. McDonald's Szechuan Sauce Shortage We can imagine exactly how the meeting went for including the Szechuan Sauce at McDonald's for one day only but if we give these Rick and Morty fans what they want they'll come in and buy a Big Mac, drink a coke and eat some French fries and we'll make a bunch of money. Too bad it didn't go quite so easily and also, we weren't aware McDonald's was going to lie to us and only have about 20 packets of the sauce at each participating location. Pink Slime Scandal The pink slime scandal ended up being one of the biggest news stories of the century, and yet, ABC was sued for reportedly using false information as part of the story—the lawsuit was filed by Beef Products Inc. And was set as a 1.2 billion-dollar lawsuit against ABC for breaking a story which stated more than 70 percent of grocery store ground beef contained a form of pink slime. Chick-fil-A Crisis You've probably seen the hilarious Chick-fil-A ads using billboards with cows painting things like "Eat Mor Chickin" or "Free Cactus Hugz 4 Burgr Eatrz" on them, which is a clever form of advertising and the misspelled words kind of add an endearing quality to it. Subway has had its fair share of media scandals including the fact it was using a chemical used in the creation of yoga mats which was outlawed in many countries just not the United States, it has had its fair share of food poisoning outbreaks, it wasn't actually selling foot long sub sandwiches, but it's biggest and most headline-worthy scandal was that of its major spokesman Jared Fogle. Subway just can't catch a break it seems. Hot Coffee Law Suit There has never been a more talked about fast food lawsuit than the hot coffee lawsuit back in 1992. The case was 79-year-old widow Stella Liebeck against the McDonald's corporation. Liebeck had decided to get a value meal when riding with her grandson through the drive-thru—her grandson pulled into a parking spot and Liebeck opened the cup of coffee to add cream and sugar to it.

Animals You Wish You Could Have As A Pet

Unicorns Ok, yes, I'm starting off this list with a creature that is just barely different from something you can actually have in our world...a unicorn. But hey, despite being just a horse with a horn on its head, unicorns are something that many have wanted as pets. Sure, maybe those people are primarily female, but hey, if they want one, who am I to judge? I mean, there are groups of men who love My Little Pony, so frankly, do whatever you want! 5. Direwolves/Wolves I'm going to mix some real world and fantasy here because both of these deserve entries on my list. Not to mention, they're one of my favorite animals. Dogs are great pets, but many are derived from the wolf species. The difference though is that a dog can be domesticated, a wolf cannot. As a zoo worker once told me and my family, "You can train a wolf, but you can never tame one." And I believe it's that desire to prove them wrong that wants us to have wolves as pets. 4. Giant Birds There are many desires that we humans have that I would define as "primal". Meaning that sometimes we don't know why we want these things, but merely that we do. One of them is the desire to fly. Now, yes, we have airplanes, hang gliders, and even rocket packs to a certain extent, but there's something about being up there without mechanical assistance that just feels right, and to have a giant bird that you could fly through the skies with would just be awesome. 3. Big Cats Some clarification, when I say "big cats", I don't mean large tabbys or having a really big house cat. I'm talking about lions, tigers, cheetahs, jaguars, panthers, the works. These are the big cats, and I would venture a guess that some of you have thought about having them as pets. 2. Dinosaurs When you look at the creatures of our world today, it's hard to think that there were anything bigger, scarier than them. And yet, there were, and they were called dinosaurs. Dinosaurs roamed the prehistoric Earth, and it took a literal disaster of epic proportions to wipe them out. But...if they did still exist to this day...they'd be really cool pets. 1. Dragons The undisputed, holy grail creature that we all wish could have as pets is without a doubt...dragons. And let's be honest, if you haven't wanted a dragon as a pet in your life? You really need to read more fantasy.

NAZCA LINES In 1930, a perplexing series of geoglyphs etched into the sand was discovered off the coast of Peru, in the desert plains of the Rio Grande de Nasca river basin - one of the driest places on Earth. Known as the Nazca Lines, they date back to 200 B.C. and occupy a land area of roughly 170 square miles. 5. THE SACSAYHUAMAN WALLS Near the modern-day Peruvian city of Cuzco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire, a series of walls has puzzled scientists and sparked debate ever since their discovery. The walls are located among the ruins of an ancient citadel known as Sacsayhuaman- easy to remember right??- which sits at over 12,000 feet above sea level. 4. THE PIRI REIS MAP A map discovered in Istanbul in 1929 by German theologian Gustav Deissmann proved to be anything but ordinary upon further examination. The map, which had been written on gazelle skin parchment, was traced back to Piri Reis, a well-documented cartographer and admiral of the Ottoman-Turkish navy. The map was drawn by Reis in 1513 and features Europe, North Africa, South America, and several islands, including the Azores and the Canary Islands. 3. BOLSHOI ZAYATSKY LABYRINTHS Some of history’s most confounding artifacts were discovered in northern Russia’s Solovetsky archipelago, on an island called Bolshoi Zayatsky. As far back as 3,000 B.C., residents built villages and sacred sites on the island, including an irrigation system. Along with several of its surrounding islands, Bolshoi Zayatsky was covered in large piles of boulders, which contained bones, places of worship, and petroglyphs. 2. THE BAGHDAD BATTERY The Baghdad Battery, also known as the Parthian Battery, is a device consisting of three artifacts that were found together in modern-day Iraq. Its components consist of a 5-and-a-half inch tall terracotta pot, a tube of copper, and an iron rod. 1. NAN MADOL Adjacent to the eastern shore of Pohnpei, an island within the Federated States of Micronesia located in the western Pacific Ocean, lies the archaeological site of an ancient city called Nan Madol. The site consists of around 100 man-made islands, made of huge basalt rock, and a series of canals.

Green Glass Spearhead Students from the University of Western Australia got a powerful reminder of their country’s history during a trip to Rottnest Island, offshore from Perth, when they spotted a striking spearhead fashioned from green glass. Strange thing is, green glass isn’t local to Australia. So how did it get there?? The answer lies in the island’s troubled history, it’s not the prettiest story. 9. Shark Tooth Weapons In 2012 experts got a surprise when researching the ecology of the Gilbert Islands. They’re located in the Central Pacific Ocean and the local craft involved making weapons using sharks’ teeth. The islanders would start with a buttress made of wood, which they would then attach the ultra sharp teeth to using cords made from coconut leaves. 8. Dirty Harry Slingshot It seems you didn’t need the power of Dirty Harry’s .44 Magnum to stop an aggressor back in A.D. 140. That’s if an archaeological site in Scotland is anything to go by! In 2017 experts began finding ancient Roman at a field in Burnswark, near Edinburgh. The area would have witnessed the Roman Army building Hadrian’s Wall and pushing back the natives as they went. This naturally led to some pretty nasty confrontations. 7. Mata’a of Easter Island Up until a couple of years ago it was believed the Rapa Nui people of Easter Island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean died because of conflict. They apparently used up all their resources and turned on each other, leading to their demise. This was based on what appeared to be weaponry called ‘mata’a’, made from obsidian, or volcanic glass, found across the length and breadth of the area. 6. The Rain of Genghis Khan It’s generally accepted that Genghis Khan the Mongol ruler was one dude you didn’t want to mess with. We certainly wouldn’t argue with him anyway! The founding of the Mongol Empire was one of the most effective examples of military might the world has ever seen. 5. Tomb Triggers of Emperor Qin Huang The resting place of Qin (pronounced Chin) Huangdi, or China’s First Emperor as he was better known, captured the imaginations of both archaeologists and everyone else when his mausoleum was discovered in the 1970s. That distinctive image of 8,000 - count ‘em, 8,000! - Terracotta Warriors was truly a sight to behold. 4. Viking Knock-off Swords Old Viking swords can be found in various museums and collections around the world. They certainly look the part but around a decade ago people began noticing something strange about some of the blades. Turns out they were counterfeit! But you want to know the really strange thing? They’re still original Viking swords. Confused? You should be… 3. Megalithic Crystal Weapons When exploring tombs from the Megalithic era in Spain, archaeologists unearthed a truly astonishing discovery… 5,000 year old weapons fashioned from rock crystal! These were hidden inside chambers made of slate slabs, that gave them clues about the elite society found entombed at the site of Valencina de la Concepción. 2. Pepola Dhung Discovery There’s a long history across the globe of archaeological finds interfering with building and construction projects. Uncovering an ancient skull or rusty sword when you’re trying to bring a multi million dollar project in on time isn’t the most convenient thing, but it can shine a light on history and is worth stopping work for! 1. Mountain Sword Climate change is generally a bad thing for the planet but it does have unexpected side effects. In terms of archaeology, the melting of snow and ice can reveal stuff from thousands of years ago that people had never thought possible. Just such a thing was found last year up a mountain in Norway by a reindeer hunter.

10 BIGGEST Underwater Creatures In The world!

11:38
Check out the 10 biggest underwater creatures in the world! This top 10 list of mysterious deep sea monsters has some of the biggest and most bizarre animals that were ever found! Japanese Spider Crab For starters, let's think about some sea creatures you'd see on or near a beach. What's the first thing you see? For me, it's a crab. They're always wandering around, and if you're not careful, you can step on one, and you'll regret it...trust me on that. 9. Giant Clams When you hear those words, "Giant Clams", you likely think about a movie you've seen, or a TV show that exaggerated the massive size of these clams. I'm curious though, which one was it for you? 8. Portuguese Man-Of-War The sea is truly full of wonders, and because of that, we're still trying to learn all the secrets that it holds. Take, for example, the Portuguese Man-Of-War. When you look at it, what species of animal do you think it is? A jellyfish? A good guess, but that's actually incorrect. In fact, the Portuguese Man-Of-War is a collection of organisms that work together to move and act. 7. Ocean Sunfish Sticking with the "oddities" portion of the ocean, let's talk about the Ocean Sunfish. This creature is affectionately known as the "Swimming Head". Can you guess why? That's right, it's because it doesn't have a tail. If you look closely at it, you'll see that it's literal all rigid, save for its mouth of course. 6. Giant Squid Whether on the land, in the air, or in the ocean, there are tales of massive creatures that roam the waters and have caused havoc for humans that have gotten in their way. The Giant Squid is most certainly one of them. In fact, many feel that the Giant Squid is the basis for the legend of the Kraken, which is understandable given how massive these creatures are. 5. Basking Shark Sharks are famous, and notorious for being some of the most vicious and aggressive creatures within the ocean. So it might just surprise you to learn that the Basking Shark is not only the second-largest fish within the ocean itself, but it's also one of most gentle sharks in the water. That sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it? 4. Whale Shark So, if the Basking Shark is the second-largest fish in the sea, what's the first? Well, that would be the Whale Shark, another creature that sounds like an oxymoron, yet this time works out when you think about it. After all, whales are massive, and this one definitely qualifies. True, it's shark nature is downplayed, just like the Basking Shark, but if we're focusing on size, this is one creature that lives up to the name both times. 3. Oarfish Speaking of wonders, let's talk about one that is so mysterious, so odd, and so rarely seen that when it first was taken in a picture, people actually thought of as a hoax. We speak of the Oarfish. This is a large fish that is actually the largest "bony fish" alive. In fact, the largest one found was 36 feet long. 2. Blue Whale So, we've already talked about the biggest fishes in the sea, but when it comes to mammals, there is only one candidate, the Blue Whale. In fact, the Blue Whale is so huge, that it dwarfs many man-made creations. This is a creature that is nearly 110 feet long! That's basically an 11-story building, and it probably weighs as much as that building, if not more! 1. Lion's Mane Jellyfish When we talked about the Portuguese Man-O-War, we noted that its tentacles reached at their peak 135 feet long. But noted that this was a rarity. In contrast, the Lion's Mane Jellyfish averages a tentacle length of 120 feet. And that's not including their bodies. Which means that the tentacles alone are bigger than the biggest creature in the sea via the Blue Whale.

THE INCA ICE MAIDEN In 1999, a remarkable discovery was made by members of an archaeological expedition on Argentina’s Llullaillaco volcano: the mummified remains of three Inca children: a thirteen-year-old girl, and a boy and girl around the age of four or five. To date, the mummies are considered the most well-preserved human remains ever discovered. 5. A 10,000 FOOT MOUNTAIN RANGE Buried deep underneath Antarctica’s ice sheets lies an old, mysterious mountain range. The Gamburtsev Mountains were discovered by scientists about fifty years ago. Despite knowing about the existence of the mountain range, not much is known about it. Why? Because it’s buried in ice - three miles of it, to be precise. Recently, advances in image technology have revealed that the mountains rise up to 15,000 feet high and that the range is 750 miles in length. 4. MILLIONS OF GRASSHOPPERS The American west is known for having problematic populations of locusts and grasshoppers. A glacier in Montana, which has been appropriately named Grasshopper Glacier, is proof of the extent of damage these pesky insects are capable of. 3. A 25-MILLION YEAR OLD LAKE In 2012, Russian scientists stationed in Antarctica made a shocking discovery: a subglacial, 25-million year old lake. A lake, found under ice! Isn’t that ironic?? The lake, which has since been named Lake Vostok, was discovered in the vicinity of Vostok Station in East Antarctica in 1987. Its existence wasn’t officially confirmed until 1993, however, via the use of radar technology. Lake Vostok is the largest subglacial lake on the Antarctic continent. 1. OTZI A group of hikers exploring the Otztal Alps in 1991 made a discovery they never expected - the 5,300-year-old mummified corpse of a man who’d perished at an altitude of 10,530 feet! The man, nicknamed Otzi, had several intact body parts, including his brain, internal organs, and eyeballs.

Pit Bull Terrier There’s a bit of confusion about where exactly the pit bull was bred and what it was bred for but most believe it was originally bred to “bait” bulls. And then in the 1800s, baiting became banned so the dogs were bred for a new sport: ratting and dog fighting. 7. Canary Mastiff This is the Canary Mastiff, or the Perro de Presa Canario--a dog originally bred for working livestock. Their roots come from Spain and their name literally translates to “Canarian catch dog”. The breed was first introduced by Dr. Carl Semencic, an American anthropologist who wrote an article for Dog World Magazine and his books about the subject of rare breeds of dogs. 6. Japanese Tosa The Tosa was a crossbreed of different European dog breeds including the Old English Bulldog, the Mastiff, St. Bernard, German Pointer, Great Dane and Bull Terrier. The idea was to create a larger, more powerful dog and between 1924 and 1933 the Tosa was created. 5. Brazilian Mastiff The Brazilian Mastiff, or the Fila Brasileiro was originally created to be a hunting dog--doing well on ranches and plantations. It would guard estates and hunt big game animals like jaguars, but it also worked well around the farm and was able to “catch” individual cattle by grabbing hold of its neck for Brazilian ranchers. 4. Staffordshire Bull Terrier This breed was created in the mid-19th century in Britain to be a small and fast dog fighter. If I saw one of these coming toward me on the street and off leash I would probably turn around, but owners swear these are the most sensitive and loving companions of the dog world. 3. Rhodesian Ridgeback The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a majestic breed created in Africa to be both a versatile hunter and a guardian for the home. These dogs tend to be highly intelligent, stubborn with a significant amount of energy. You’ll be able to quickly identify this breed by the ridge which runs down their spine. 2. German Shepherd I know many people who swear they will never own another type of dog besides a German Shepherd. It’s one of America’s most popular dog breeds but is it also a dangerous one? First, let’s talk about the good stuff. The German Shepherd is highly intelligent and his devotion and companionship are like none other. 1. Rottweiler The Rottweiler is another versatile breed which was created to do multiple things. It could do everything from driving cattle to market and then later pulling carts for butchers. They were also some of the earliest police and military dogs.

CRAZIEST Things Found With A Metal Detector!

12:03
Check out the craziest things found with a metal detector! This top 10 list of amazing treasures found with a metal detector has some of the strangest discoveries ever! Subscribe to World5List: http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Check out our "Superpowers You Can Get RIGHT NOW!" video at: https://youtu.be/a6QmVdBTf0g Check out our "8 Bizarre Things People Found in Their Pool" video at: https://youtu.be/gH7ywvBgXkE 10. Stolen Goods There's no doubt in my mind that many of the treasures you might find in your backyard weren't placed there by accident!! Someone probably put them there for safekeeping, and then for one reason or another didn't get to dig them up. A good case of this is when a postal worker was under investigation by police. 9. Spanish Doubloons Pop quiz. When were the first metal detectors widely distributed to the world? Answer: The 1960's. But that doesn't mean that finds weren't made before that though. For example, in 1952, a man named Edward Rowe was on the search for buried treasure. See, he was ahead of the game!! 8. "The Best In Town" Ok, this find is "crazy" because of the story itself, and it's a classic for sure. So, picture this, a man and a woman are dating, they get to know each other...etc. As they do, the man gets down on one knee and proposes to her. She says "yes". The next day, this woman goes to a beach in Los Angeles...and promptly loses the ring. Whoops!! 7. A Gold Mine Finding gold anything is easily one of the biggest hopes of treasure hunters who use metal detectors. But imagine being able to find the place where the gold basically comes from? In Texas, a group of treasure hunters were out looking for something good when they came across something they didn't expect...a gold mine. 6. Long Lost Ring Seriously, what is it with people losing rings? I mean, it's on your finger, right? So, why is it so easy to lose these things? Anyway, one family had a story, and a son-in-law to this family wanted to help out. Basically, the father of this family had lost his gold wedding ring some 15 years before, and he had never been able to find it. 5. Fallout Shelter So, one of the things you fear when you buy a house from another person is that they left behind something that you really don't want, or don't want to be surprised by. So let me ask you, if you found a fully stocked fallout shelter in your backyard, would you be mad? Or glad? Or something else? 4. Beer Chalice While it's true that most metal detector expeditions happen on land, many of the greatest treasure finds happen under the depths of the ocean. So it should be no surprise that a metal detector can be used underwater. And that's exactly what diver Mike DeMar did in 2008. He was diving off the coast of Key West and used the detector to try and find some goodies. 3. The Boot Of Cortez If not apparently by now, and it should be as we're near the end of the list, anyone can use a metal detector and anyone can find special items with it. Sometimes though, it's all about timing and location. In 1989, a man from Sonora, Mexico did what many had done before. He went to a store and bought an off-the-shelf metal detector. Simple as that. 2. Ringlemere Gold Cup Usually, when an item is damaged, the value of said item goes WAY down. But in the case of the Ringlemere Gold Cup, it was the value of the history that made it special, and not exactly the item itself per se. Which is why the guy who found it cleaned up nicely. 1. Staffordshire Hoard Let's be honest here, if you find ONE rare object in the ground, and get to sell it for a good price, you're a happy person, right? If you find more than that, you're doubly lucky. But imagine finding a horde of valuable items...all because of a metal detector. That's what happened to Terry Herbert, and his life was needless to say not the same again.

Poveglia Island What defines “creepy”? What defines “survivable”? As in many things, it depends on who’s talking about it, and what the context of such things are. However, there are some cases of islands that transcend context, and are generally considered creepy and unsurvivable. One such island is Poveglia Island. 8. Oak Island Sometimes creepiness can be measured not by the island itself, but in the people that go there. For example, if an island appears to have treasure, people will go out of there way to find it, including risking their own lives. Such is the case with Oak Island, an island 500 feet from Canada. 7. Izu Islands This one is a bit tricky, because there are people living on the Izu islands, but there’s one heck of a catch. You see, these islands, which are set southeast of Japan, are notorious for their volcanic activity. To the point where they happen so frequently, people are ordered to carry gas masks all the time. 6. Senguin Island Ghost stories help sell the idea of an island being creepy, or haunted. And it can make it so you never want to go to a particular island. The best ones though are ones that both can’t be explained, and didn’t start out as creepy. 5. Island Of The Dolls There are some things that register to everyone as “creepy”, and dolls can most certainly be that to many, especially when they’re made a certain way. But also, when they’re hung from trees on an island. 4. Alcatraz No, we don’t mean if you’re locked up you wouldn’t survive there. Though that is an option. Alcatraz was built to be one of the safest and most secure prison islands ever constructed. And despite numerous breakout attempts, there has never been an official confirmed escape...there are some rumor that it did happen.... 3. Ramree Island What makes an island dangerous? What makes it scary? Is it its history? The inhabitants that live there? Or the fact that no matter what way you make it to that island, you’re probably screwed. Such is the story with Ramree Island, a place we guarantee you will not survive under any circumstances. 2. North Pacific Gyre Let me ask you a question. When you throw your trash away, do you recycle? You should, but do you? Honestly? If not, you’re part of the problem going on in the North Pacific Gyre. 1. Islands Overrun By Animals Of A Single Species To wrap it up, there are also several islands out there in the world that are infested by animals of a single species. For example, in Japan, there is Okonoshima island, which is overrun by rabbits.
